Dear 2017,

You are the worst year ever.

I just have to say, 2017 has so far been a really terrible year, nothing seems to have changed, people aren’t perfect, and the ice caps just decided to keep melting. People just don’t seem to understand that it’s a new year so all that death, poverty, and animosity towards each other is supposed to have stopped by now.

When the ball dropped at midnight in Times Square, things were set to be better: no death, no anger, no hate, and no war. But obviously most of the world didn’t get the memo because the Syrian civil war is still going on, and everyone is not peachy and happy like they should be. Approximately 500,000 people have already died in the first 3 days without asking for permission… 😕 I’ve even heard someone yell profane words at a fellow classmate in the halls, and it’s all 2017’s fault.

What happened to the whole “new year, new me” statement? I thought everyone was supposed to change and become perfect human beings in order to further mankind as a whole? Clearly I was wrong; 2017 is already shaping up to be the WORST YEAR EVER. Everyone complained that 2016 was atrocious, but since 2017 isn’t going the way I want, I’m gonna be the first one to exclaim that it’s the worst year ever. So when everyone is saying how bad this year was in December, I can proudly boast that I hated it from the start and all credit for negative feelings towards this year can be directed to me.
