Many of my nonexistent readers and friends have asked me who I am supporting after Florida Senator Marco Rubio suspended his campaign. I have thought over my support. Through my deliberations, I asked myself a few questions. Who can defeat Hillary? Who has a record of getting things done? Who cares what I think? After considering those questions, only one outcome has consistently solved these problems. Only one outcome will make me truly proud. Only one outcome will get things done. That one outcome? Suspending political action on my part until I can actually get involved in the democratic process.

Flushing needs an Opinions Editor that isn’t so full of himself that he thinks he can figure out who people should vote for. Giving up politics can accomplish this and potentially entertain┬ápeople TheB Lazer previously couldn’t imagine winning. Independents, Democrats, people who don’t care, and our main contingent, senior citizens (who haven’t wanted to hear what I’ve had to say since we started back up in 2014). These are people that could be avid readers if I get off my high horse and calm down about this whole politics thing for a while. Why wouldn’t a Lazer fan want this? What true, literate member of audience wants a teenager who can’t vote spewing thoughts on the issues in an editorial position? None, and every true Raider should back me in finally stopping the beating of this dead horse I call conservatism because I can and will finally do it.

Despite the evidence, many say that I should continue. They say this because I have won 3 class presidential elections and write a continuing political column. Well, in a nonexistent poll taken of our school, a place I help run, only two in ten people said they would be opposed to me stopping. In the same poll, I fudged the numbers, as politicians often do.

Flushing needs an editor who will do the right things and has a record of doing the right things. Flushing needs to be proud of the person sitting at that desk kinda toward the end on the hallway side of room 102. We can achieve so much as a school when our leader encompasses those qualities, and I can only do it, if I finally shut up about this system which encompasses all of our government.
