Happy Thanksgiving from The Blazer
November 26, 2015
The sweet aroma of freshly baked croissants filling the air; the exhibit of roasted turkey fills the room; and the sounds of a united family gives fullness to the atmosphere. Thanksgiving; a time of giving thanks and partaking in glorious amounts of food.
America was founded on the basis of humility and fellowship, the reasoning behind celebrating Thanksgiving. This is the one holiday where we are able to thank our loved ones for the care they provide for us and the lives we have because of them. It is a holiday that unites the community together and allows all people to be content in accordance with one another. Not to mention, it is a day dedicated to fellowship through food. Put it all together, and you have a holiday that where family members come together with feelings of unity and joy.
“Thanksgiving Day is important to my family because it is the one day that we can all see each other,” said one senior at Flushing High School. “Not to mention, there is tons of great food, and it’s just a fulfilling experience.”
There comes a time when family needs to come together, and that day is Thanksgiving; family members are giving thanks for the family members that they are able to be with. Also, the food is second to none.
