Standing still, silent and alone,
concealed under voices and laughter
Eyes dart from left to right
and cerebral thunder pounds through my ears

My presence remains unknown,
as I am just a tree in the forest,
covered in rain and dirt,
and the sound of spoken thoughts

Surrounded by flowers and plants and sunlight,
but somehow still solitary
No route or direction,
or purpose at all

Occupied within one way conversation
As I search for familiarities
But still I stand
silent and alone
A tree in the forest
